Pastor G.SUNDARAM (1909 – 1989)

Pastor G.Sundaram of “Apostolic Christian Assembly” was born on 7 February 1909 in a small village called Palliyadi in Tamil Nadu. His parents were school teachers and he had five sisters and two brothers. He was brought up in a God-fearing family. As a small boy, he read the Bible and prayed daily and worked hard in their farm after school.

He went to Malaysia in 1929 along with his younger sister after her marriage.

There, he accepted Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour.

He returned to India in 1933 and became a minister in the Ceylon Pentecostal Mission.

In 1945 he got married and in 1948 the Spirit of God urged Pastor Sundaram to go to Madras.

There, he started a small church called Apostolic Christian Assembly with a small gathering of 4 people.

His implicit obedience to God’s call , was the foundation of this Church and by his prayers and hardwork there came an immense growth . Now ACA has over 20,000 members and has more than 350 churches in India and abroad.

Pastor G.Sundaram went to be with the Lord in the year 1989 at the age of 80.

Though he had to face many hurdles in his ministry, he held on to God and never away from God’s Will.
